Con motivo de la exposición `Lucian Freud. Nuevas perspectivas´, el área de Pintura Moderna del museo organiza del 9 al 30 de marzo de 2023, un ciclo de conferencias en el que se revisa la obra del pintor británico bajo diferentes miradas.
La teatralidad de su estudio, un laboratorio de creación y escenario de tantos cuadros en los que la pintura actúa como sustancia y como elemento narrativo; el desarrollo de la idea de intimidad en sus magníficos retratos, en especial los de las personas de su entorno; su relación con los diferentes modelos que posaron para él a lo largo de su vida y las numerosas referencias a los maestros antiguos, tan presentes en su obra, son algunos de los temas que se tratan a lo largo del ciclo.

In conjunction with the exhibition Lucian Freud. New perspectives, the museum’s department of Modern Painting organises a lecture series that runs from the 9th to the 30th of March ans that reassesses the work of this British artist from a range of different viewpoints.
The theatricality of the studio – Freud’s creative laboratory and the stage for so many of his works, in which paint functions as a material and a narrative element; the development of the idea of intimacy in the artist’s magnificent portraits, particularly those of people from his close personal circle; his relationship with the different models who posed for him over the years; and the numerous references to the Old Masters that are so notably present in his work, are some of the topics discussed in this series.
